Iran Conducted USD 71.2 Billion in Trade of Non Oil Goods with Other Countries

MNA cited Mr Abbas Memarnejad, Customs Administration Director of Iranian, as saying that Iran conducted USD 71.2 billion in trade of non oil goods with other countries during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 20.

Mr Memarnejad said that some USD 31 billion worth of non oil goods were exported and nearly USD 40.2 billion worth of non oil goods were imported during the nine month period.

Iron and steel ingots, wheat, and corn fodder were the main goods imported, and liquefied propane, urea and cement were the main items exported.

He said that Iraq, China, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan and India were the top importers of Iranian goods during the period, while the United Arab Emirates, China, Turkey, South Korea, and Switzerland were the leading exporters of goods to Iran.

He added that Iran is currently in trade with 151 countries.

Mr Shamseddin Hosseini, Finance and Economic Affairs Minister, said that Iran conducted economic transactions with 150 countries in the previous Iranian calendar year. And about 80 countries transited their products through Iran.

Mr Hosseini said that Iran continues trading with the world at a brisk pace, even though certain countries are currently trying to create obstacles in order to hinder the country’s economic progress.

Meanwhile, Iran exported around USD 43.7 billion worth of non oil goods in the previous Iranian calendar year and imported about USD 61.8 billion worth of non oil goods to hit the unprecedented mark of USD 105 billion in annual trade.
